Introduction:

This relevant two day course is designed for the general practitioner who wants to
advance their level of ophthalmological knowledge and surgical competency.

The anatomy, physiology and pathology of the cornea, eyelids and third eyelid will
be reviewed along with breed related conformational abnormalities.

The surgical techniques will include entropion and ectropion correction, eyelid neoplasm
resection, keratectomies and conjunctival pedical grafting.

Delegates will then spend day two of the program practising procedures in
the practical session.

By the end of this course, delegates will have an understanding of the spectrum
of congenital, developmental and conformational disorders of the eyelids that require
surgical correction. They will perform types of corneal repair and reconstruction, including
direct suturing, conjunctival grafts, corneo-conjunctival transposition and procedures
including grid keratotomy, superficial keratectomy and foreign body removal.
