Introduction:

This highly practical 2 day course is for the general practitioner who wants to learn how to perform
basic and commonly utilised laparoscopic procedures, before investing in further equipment.

Many clinics own flexible endoscopy units and have the preliminary equipment necessary for
rigid endoscopy and laparoscopy. This program provides training and hands on experience
with the additional instrumentation required to perform laparoscopy.

It will teach laparoscopic bitch spaying and other clinically relevent techniques.

The capped small group setting allows plenty of opportunities to practise procedures and
up-skill while working closely with a specialist surgeon experienced in laparoscopic techniques.

By the end of this course participants should have an understanding of:
• Equipment required for laparoscopy
• Instrument handling techniques
• Basic principles of laparoscopic surgery, electrosurgery, haemostatis,
laparoscopic ovariectomy/OHE
• Liver, gall bladder, pancreatic and splenic biopsy techniques.
